The pictures of the Stations of the Cross on the walls of the back were added in 1921. They were painted by the artist Hans Schroedter. The influence of Expressionism is obvious, particularly in the colour scheme and in the facial expression of the people.
Here are depicted the 14 stations of the Passion of Jesus from the death sentence by Pilate to the burial of Jesus. To do the way of the Cross is a typical expression of Catholic piety, in personal prayer as well as in common celebrations (“Kreuzwegandacht”).
